How Do I Create a New Patient?

Overview

Before beginning treatment with a new patient, it is recommended to create a patient profile in Stimware. The patient profile stores essential patient information and treatment-related data, helping ensure consistency across treatment sessions.

1. Log in to Stimware.
2. From the Home Page, select New Patient.
3. Enter the patient's information in the required fields.
4. Review the entered information and proceed to the next step.
5. Complete any additional setup steps required for treatment.
6. Select a treatment protocol.
7. Save the patient profile.

Once saved, the patient can be loaded from the patient database for future treatment sessions.

Required Patient Information

The following fields are mandatory when creating a patient:

• Full Name
• Patient ID
• Birthday
• Physician
• Gender

Some fields require a specific format. If the information is entered incorrectly, Stimware will prompt you to correct it before continuing.

Using a TMS-Cap

If your clinic uses the TMS-Cap positioning method:

1. Assign a unique TMS-Cap ID.
2. Write the ID on the patient's physical cap.
3. Enter the same ID into the patient profile.

This helps ensure consistent coil positioning across future treatment sessions.

Patient Setup Workflow

Creating a patient profile may include up to four steps:

1. Enter patient information.
2. Determine and record positioning information if applicable.
3. Determine and save the motor threshold.
4. Select a treatment protocol.

After completing these steps, the patient profile is ready for treatment.
