Can I operate SAM without the optional PC / patient screen?

Yes. The neurocare SAM system can be operated without the optional PC / patient screen. A two‑screen setup is recommended, but it is not required for operation.

Single‑screen operation

SAM can be run using a single Windows computer. All core functions such as session control, signal monitoring, and system operation are available without connecting an additional patient screen.

Two‑screen setup (recommended, not required)

A two‑screen configuration is recommended because it allows:
  • The therapist to monitor signals and session data
  • The user to view feedback on a separate display
However, this setup is optional. The system does not require a second screen to function.

Display resolution considerations

When using one or two screens, minimum display resolutions apply. If screen resolution falls below the accepted minimum, the software may display a warning and close. This applies regardless of whether a second screen is used.

Notes

  • The optional patient screen improves workflow and visibility but is not mandatory.
  • SAM functionality is not limited when operating with a single screen, provided system requirements are met.
