Cleaning the EEG Cap

After the recording session, remove all sponges from the electrode holders. Removing only the sponges helps reduce unnecessary handling of the cap components.

Before washing the cap, identify all connectors and cable terminations. Do not allow connectors or electrical contacts to become wet. Keep all connectors away from water, mild detergent, and cleaning solution throughout the cleaning process.

Wash the cap by hand using clean water and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaning tools, strong chemicals, or excessive force. Pay particular attention to areas where saline residue may accumulate.

Drying the EEG Cap

After washing, thoroughly rinse the cap with clean water until no detergent residue remains and the water runs clear.

Allow excess water to drip from the cap. Do not wring, twist, or aggressively squeeze the cap, as this may damage the cap material or attached components.

Place the cap on a drying rack or suitable hook and allow it to air dry completely before storing or reusing it. Store the cap in a clean, dry location once drying is complete.
