What is iAPF?
Individual Alpha Peak Frequency (iAPF) is a measure of the frequency at which alpha brain activity reaches its highest power during an EEG recording. iAPF is included in EEG analysis and may provide information about an individual's brain activity patterns.
Where can I find iAPF?
If available, iAPF can be found within the EEG report generated after an EEG recording has been processed in neurocare OS.
To view iAPF:
- Open the patient's record.
- Navigate to the EEG section.
- Open the completed EEG report.
- Locate the iAPF value within the EEG analysis results.
How is iAPF used?
iAPF is one of several EEG metrics presented in the report and should be considered alongside other EEG findings, clinical observations, questionnaires, and patient history.
The interpretation of iAPF should always be performed by a qualified healthcare professional within the broader clinical context.
Important considerations
- iAPF is a quantitative EEG metric.
- It is intended to support clinical assessment and treatment planning.
- iAPF should not be used on its own to make diagnostic decisions.
